Research Services

I live in Ottawa, Canada and have access to Library and Archives Canada as well as other local repositories. Census records, Upper Canada Land Grants, WW1 military records, city directories and newspapers are only some of the available sources of genealogical information. The following services are offered:
  • records extraction, transcription and/ or photocopying where you know the exact reference but do not have access to the source
  • in-depth research of the records where you think there might be information, but you have no definite source to quote
  • determining and carrying out research plans when you just don't know where to begin

My qualifications and experience:
  • experienced genealogist, working on my own family history for over 20 years
  • a graduate of the Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Canadian Certificate Programmes in Genealogical Studies, Faculty of Information Studies, University of Toronto
  • author and instructor of "Canadian Immigration" - a course offered by the National Institute of Genealogical Studies
  • member of Ontario Genealogical Society, Kingston, Toronto and Kawartha Branches
  • member of British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa (BIFHISGO)
  • member of Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), and the Ontario Chapter
  • experienced speaker on Canadian Immigration topics
  • successfully proved my United Empire Loyalist lineage, identifying a previously undocumented daughter.
  • author of the recently published book Don't Forget to Write - a look at the Canadian YMCA through historical postcards
